Some databases that have commodity data are:

  • LSEG Workspace:
    • Option 1: Under Search Tools, select Search. Commodities are an option. Historical prices are available.
    • Option 2: Type "commodities" in the main search box to find the Commodities app.
    • Option 3: Type your commodity (ie corn) in the main search box and select the app you want like Corn Prices or Corn/Maize Guide.
  • FactSet:
    • Option 1: Under Markets select commodities.
    • Option 2: Under Company/Security do a search for the commodity (ie corn) that you are interested in. Historical prices are available.
    • Option 3: Type commodities in the main search box and select Commodities Futures app.
  • Bloomberg:
    • Visit the research desk at the Gast Business Library and request to check-out the Bloomberg keyboard. Once logged in, in order to conduct a search for commodities, hit the Yellow Commodity Key on the Bloomberg keyboard, or: Type CMDTY then hit <GO>.
