Mergent Online:
In Mergent, you'll see the search box on the right allows to search by classification. Click on the link to "use code lookup" to browse industries or if you know the code, enter it directly into the search box. Click on the search button to retrieve companies listed by the selected code.
Mergent Intellect:
Click on Advanced Search and then the Industry tab. Search by industry code. You can also include other search criteria like location.
Nexis Uni:
Under Menu at the top, click Business. Click Company Dossier (note: if you have pop-up blocker on, it will block the search from opening. Either allow it to open or turn off the pop-up blocker temporarily.) Click Create a Company List. There is an option for SIC or NAICS Code along with other search options q.
ReferenceUSA:
Hover over U.S. Businesses and then click search. Click on the Custom Search tab and then click Business Type. Search by SIC/NAICS code or Major Industry Group to create a list of businesses in that industry. Reference USA may have more results because of listings of individual store/company locations. Other databases may just list the parent company. This database is best for local companies.
