Nexis Uni has some US Bankruptcy cases and also SEC filings you can search. To search for companies that have filed for bankruptcy click Advanced Search and under "Select a specific content type, select Company and Financial and then SEC filings. Form 8-K is used to declare bankruptcy with the SEC. (You can see more information about the process here.) You can also input other search criteria and then click search. To get cases, click Advanced Search, and under "Select a specific content type, select Cases and then Cases again. Use search term bankruptc* or other terms and click Search. You can narrow down to bankruptcy courts by selecting them under Sources. 

U.S. Courts Bankruptcy Statistics: The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts compiles statistics on bankruptcy filings.

American Bankruptcy Institute: The ABI also provides U.S. Bankruptcy statistics.

The Bankruptcy yearbook and almanac: This print book provides statistics on bankruptcies.
